@chikorita157 I think more like the Wii U pad isn’t a good thing:) I personally hated that thing, 99% gimmick that in the end nobody wants to use. Good ideas get copied (see Switch like handhelds are getting common, and no the didn’t invent the form factor:))

If it had been a true stand alone handheld that was fast as you could make it for $399 I would have loved it. PS on the go would be cool. Indies and old games!

@breadbin I liked the Vita, it had PS3 games on a handheld, of course running at lower resolution. I used the Vita way more than the Nintendo 3DS since it has more JRPGs that I wanted to play.

Sadly, Sony killed off the system because it didn’t sell well enough. Hence, we have this streaming console that can’t play games on a device. I doubt Sony will make a dedicated handheld ever again.

Also, the Vita is pocketable, can game for hours and lightweight, unlike the Steam Deck or ROG Ally. Sure, you might be able to pocket a Switch Lite, but…

@chikorita157 I’m far too careful with devices to pocket them:) Sans my phone. But I get the appeal of the form factor.

The PSP and Vita were genuinely fun machines. I got my hopes up when they announced this new thing and that was squashed fast:/

I know “mobile” games are the thing these days, and I’m probably a bit of an outlier, but I don’t like playing on touchscreen phones at all. I want proper controls and a bigger screen.

Can’t combine phone and game handheld for me.
