So, for those who might have been curious about my recent rantings about the #FruitsBasket #Manga and trying to complete this series.

We, that is my wife and I, found a seller selling the TokyoPop versions of volumes 2 - 23 on Ebay for about £120, so about £5.50 per volume. We did have to pick up a random volume 1, but that was pretty easy and cheap.

So the Fruits Basket saga of trying to complete that series is now over. Along with the Full Metal Alchemist saga.

We may have significantly blown the manga budget for the next few months, but at least these series can be marked as complete.

I think I have my Christmas season reading sorted 😁

thinking about how at the end of an episode about longing to see people you care about, Tohru goes up to the roof where Kyo always hangs out

and then doesn't understand why she's crying when he implies that whoever she ends up with won't be him

today's a good day for writing when I don't feel like it

the short #FruitsBasket fic I'm working on went a different direction than I expected, and while I'm not sad about that, it left me unsure how to wrap it up in a satisfying way

it took sleeping on it a couple of times to think of the really simple answer "wind up both threads in the same scene"

oh man I succeeded in getting someone to watch #FruitsBasket (2019) with me so I'm watching it for a second time, and there is so much more foreshadowing than I remember

if you only saw it once and liked it, I recommend a rewatch just to see all the context between the lines

Finally finished season 3 of Fruits Basket. Took me much longer than expected since I kinda lost momentum in season 2. But in the end, it was a really good story and I'm glad I got a chance to watch it.

Certain moments made me cry, certain moments made me think. It touched upon issues I didn't expect (grief, trauma, acceptance... self-acceptance) and I was genuinely impressed by most of them (Yuki probably got the hardest bit in terms of hard topics).

Still can't believe how spot on my intuition was about Hatori and Shigure. Bull's eye 🙈 But Shigure did remain my favourite character. I know it's a highly unpopular opinion but he's an embodiment of "I said he was my favourite, I didn't say he's a good person". Though it's also arguable...

Even though some resolutions were questionable, it was a good ride
