@cynblogger@sfba.socialThe phrase “constitutional crisis” is all over the internet & media. IMO, it is far more grave than that — the crisis we’re experiencing is fundamentally a moral one, although its effects are realized in the failure of our functioning government.
When human rights are withdrawn,
when lived human history is erased,
when kids & vulnerable segments of our population go hungry & unhoused,
when solutions to health hazards are defunded,
when necessary services are thrown into chaos,
when the environment (already in crisis) and wildlife are left unprotected,
when allies are forsaken to appease a Russian dictator,
when an entire nation finds itself living in fear and dread —- all for the purpose of MORE WEALTH for the richest of the rich, this is a moral failure that will include atrocities and large-scale death.
It’s gone far beyond the political realm. The gov’t is acting against our morality, our humanity.

@RationalizedInsanity@mastodon.socialCurrent approval ratings for Trump amongst people who voted- 48 percent. Which sounds horrible, why do so many support him still?
However voters are usually pretty politically locked in, and won't sway easily until REAL effects are felt by all.
A poll done on people who didn't vote (about half of people) found his approval is at 18 percent.
Meaning his real approval rating is much lower, and I am wondering why he hasn't been impeached yet.
