"Where do Elon Musk’s #business interests end & Donald Trump’s #political interests begin? Trick question—they’re one & the same.

How else do you explain the jarring sight of the #POTUS hawking #Teslas on the #WhiteHouse South Lawn?"

Social media that doesn't cater to the whims of billionaires, hateful politics, or promote fake news. Can you imagine it? 💭

On the open social web, you have a home on social media that you control. You can celebrate diversity, post links, and you can even share beyond your platform.

It's better social media and we're proud to be helping others join.

@bazkie That's fair, I just kind of want the option to see Threads posts without having to login to Facebook though - It's not their fault that they are on #Threads - They went there to escape #Twitter which seems fairly worthy.

I don't think I have ever actually done it, it's just about restrictions being there that I have no control over, like character limit :)

Threads has a great user retention strategy: threaten to delete your account a day after logging in for the first time in months if you don't go through a verification dance that includes uploading a photo.

Not happening, obviously.

Seeing Threads developers discuss "shipping slop or missing the hype train" is the epitome of irony today given how they've completely flopped the Fediverse Sharing "feature" that's still barely functional after a year and a half.

(Nevermind the fact that they promised full federation by the end of 2024, what year is it again?)🙄🤦‍♂️
