A group of cross-discipline #VideoGame workers in the #UnitedStates and #Canada announced the first-ever direct-join industry-wide #union called the United Videogame Workers, organized with the Communications Workers of America (UVW-CWA)
I've been replaying some #RiskOfRain (the original, 2013 #videogame). I'm on #Linux, and the last version released for this platform is known to have some glaring bugs (lockups and crashes) that do not affect other platforms. The developers have released two new games since, RoR2 and a remaster of the classic (Risk Of Rain Returns). Neither of these is available for Linux. TBH, I'm moderately pissed that the original one (which used to be fully playable to completion) hasn't been fixed.
As we are getting deeper into the story, the skill and battle systems develop and become more complex.
Still not defeated yet, but there are so many boss fights to come.

Because Michael Jordan opted out of the National Basketball Players Association's shared licensing agreement in the early '90s he is not included in NBA Live 97 and was replaced as "Roster Player" in the Chicago Bulls team of the game with similar abilities, bio data and statistics from the previous season.
He reappeared in NBA Live 2000.
Happy #wishlistwednesday Here is my space sim / life sim Orion's End. I've been working on it for a couple of years now, and am getting close to being able to release a demo. I just need to make sure it's polished just right. #indiedev #pixelart #videogames #videogame #scifi #anime #80s #90s
Many of those #Disney games on the #PS1 and #PS2, (or even #Warnerbros and etc.) are games you can safely emulate today,
Various DIsney movies had been remade of late and its a good decade right now, to go back and play through those older Disney games. Not just for nestolgia but because they been brought back up to the public eye.
Usually 3rd party releases are different then as if the game was made and owned by the #studio that owned the source material.
Many of these Disney games were made by 3rd party game company licenses. Meaning Disney made all the money before you even had the chance to buy the game. Disney is more worried about piracy of their movies, or any of their in house video games, but not games via #3rdparty studios through #licenses
Since alot of these 3rd party #videogame studious are, old, and probably don't exist today, actually further increases the safetyness of playing these older titles while emulating. However, I would not advertise any specific case of you emulating a game or more specifically downloading a #rom . It is technically illegal.
What you need to do is make sure the game you are emulating isn't a game that's still being used to this current day, many of these older ps1 titles have not been ported or remastered on modern console. (Unless you count the barebones emulatation, even then the amount of tittles are limited.
How to know when not to #emulate a game: #emulation
Even if the game is an older game in a franchise, is that specific game engine/ franchise still in use to this day? If yes, it's likely the devs would appreciate you buy that tittle. But if you're looking at something like Rayman 2 and Rayman 3, whens the last time #Ubisoft made a 3D #Rayman game? Exactly. THey been doing more 2d games in modern times.
I think most people played Tears of the Kingdom just for Purah. Photo taken at @zenkaikon 2024, courtesy of the cameraphone archives!

I was sent a free copy of Doomlings [amzn.to] base game to review for my blog. While I am very grateful for the opportunity, I won’t let it sway my opinions. This will be my honest review.
If you’re looking to buy a bunch of board games or tcg product all at once, get it over at Game Nerdz. They have unbeatable prices (if you can hit the $75 for free shipping) and they have great service. It really helps me out, and can stock up on the games you need.
[i0.wp.com][Doomlings is a cute and simple card game for 2 to 6 players. Games last about 20-45 mins to play, and learning only takes about five minutes.
Players are on a race against time as they build the strongest Doomling before catastrophe destroys erases everything. Players use their collection of cards, called traits, to build a powerful gene pool before the end of the game. Traits give players abilities, but most importantly, points. There are also ages cards that change the rules of interaction each round. They can do things like change hand sizes or affect certain colors. Events can also be catastrophes, and drawing three catastrophes ends the game. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins. Use the official web app [www.doomlingsscore.com] to tally scores easily.

The official how-to-play video is the best resource to get you started. While the instructions are clear and the game is easy to learn, the video is invaluable.

Doomlings [amzn.to] is a very cute game that is worth looking into id you need something simple, quick, and a lot of fun.
The game comes in a good-sized quality box that will fit a sleeved deck and a few expansions easily. You are going to want to sleeve these cards. While the card and print quality is durable enough to survive the first few play through, the cards are a difficult to shuffle. The cards are textured, and the texture feels nice, but it prevents a bit of the randomization you can get with sleeves. A noticed a bit of damage after the first few shuffles, but I am also a crazy person who sleeves everything.
The artwork for this game is simple, thematic, and cute. I enjoyed that each color had a unique flavor without being too busy. The focus for a game like this should be the rules and interactions, and the art is good enough to see on the table. It is a really cozy feeling game considering the it deals with the end of the world.
[i0.wp.com][Gameplaywise, the game is solid. I like that it is very easy to learn, and even easier to teach. Set up takes only a few minutes (including teaching), but I recommend you check out the official how-to-play video to fill any holes. The mechanics are sound and there is room for some sneaky strategy. You are going to hate a few of your friends, but you will have fun doing so. I like that no two games were ever the same, and my strategy always changed thanks to the draw and hand mechanic. I just wish I sleeved my cards before hand for a more randomized experience.
Doomlings is a fantastic game to pull out when you have company that doesn’t play many board games. There is enough strategy involved to keep things competitive without alienating the more casual gamer. The is very easy to learn, even if there is no prior board game experience. We had a lot of fun playing the game at our table, and I can guarantee it can find its place on any table.
You can pick up Doomlings [amzn.to] on Amazon for $24.99 using my affiliate link.

30 yrs ago #OTD, the best PC #videogame of its time was released: Descent!
The first game on the PC platform with true 3-D graphics, the zero G combat and physics were completely unique and are still very rare
Beyond two sequels, it also inspired (kinda) an entire spinoff series based on squadron outer space combat, Descent Freespace
Not opening GoG yet? Listen to the #advertisement of all its features!
