Gonna ask some folks to test the Aradia forum buuuut I think it's as done as it will be. Only issue was the two-factor authentication process. It's...not user-friendly. And by user-friendly, I mean "I had the patience to google this for a solution but I'm sure 99.5% of users won't."
I'm compelled to take it out because it will be annoying but at the same time, 2FA is necessary and there's only one extension for it. If the testers have an issue with it, I could try to see if there's a way for me to take out one of the options that's broken (because it's asking for something that isn't there on the backend), so that the authenticator app one is the primary one...
But getting ahead of myself. Testers first, then we'll see.
Luckily, perhaps, depending on when, either this week or next week, the forum can open. (And then I'll do the same check-up on my comic's forum later).
Wee update: turns out some of the testers found what I found, which is very good. They also found additional issues, one which I resolved by...disabling the google translate extension LOL
So, while I have enough basic language packs installed (as in, what appear to be the currently more commonly used languages), it's gonna suck for everyone else. Yeesh. Alas, can't do much because the bug it creates is making the installed languages automatically go to English. I chose Raid for the bug LOL
Getting more excited to debut this \ o /
Update on this (wow almost exactly a month later!)--the forum has been ready to go, except for the 2FA section. People get confused on what it is, and how to implement it, so I opened a github issue where I asked how to edit the module, so I can add an explanation about how 2FA works and how to use it.
Unfortunately it's been left unanswered for three weeks, which wouldn't be an issue if I hadn't realized now that the last time any thread got an answer was back in 2020-2021. Oof. The extension is still being updated, though, so IDK.
https://github.com/paul999/phpbb_2fa/issues/48 (the issue I opened on git)
I will have to get rid of the extension for the moment if I don't get a response in the next 1-2 weeks. Which sucks, I did not want to make a forum without that security backup. But I'm not a programmer, and I can't exactly hold everyone's hand at the register window ;_;
Unless I make it so that the only forum you see is a "here's how to register and what the heck is 2FA" But people nowadays have so minimum patience for reading and clicking more than one link, lmao...
