You might be wondering why there is so many anime being created, yet animators get paid less, which means more reliance on outsourced work and poor scheduling, which leads to delays like we saw with a handful of titles.
It’s obvious studios will take on multiple projects due to caps on the budget and inability for multiple companies to fund the project or even funding from outside companies. This will inevitably lead to productions not being on time, over-reliance on outsourcing, and poor working conditions/pay that leads to delays and a poor production overall.
The video gives a lot of good insights, which can explain some of the delays for some titles. It’s basically a race to the bottom, although some studios aren’t like that.
