UN Report revealed that the Japanese anime industry will face a potential collapse if there is no reform.
It’s not too surprising given the pay, but also with some anime productions in recent years facing delays and even production collapse. There were quite a few this year, which is a warning sign.
@chikorita157 The entertainment industry has always been exploitable and awful to its core sadly. We see more and more profits, but nothing goes to the actual artists.

@yon They will try to make AI happen, but nothing that AI makes is ever good.
Either way, they will have to address the pay and working conditions issue if they want to get more animators and people in the industry. I guess there are people not becoming animators because of pay and working conditions.
They might have to lower the number of shows a bit per season to remain substainable as well.
