Since I recently moved here, this is my #introduction
I'm a CPU engineer by trade in the SF Bay Area.
I've loved #anime since I was a little kid like 30 years ago. My first was probably #DragonBallZ on toonami.
I'm also into #videogames (typical Japanese/Japanese-inspired ones and #ParadoxInteractive strategy).
I like #opensource and software freedom as a whole (I run #linux ).
You'll also notice #computerhardware posts, especially since I'm looking to upgrade my CPU and mobo soon!
@zoku88
Heh... My first was probably one of the Go Nagai trilogy of giant robot anime (Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Grendizer). But that was about 40 years ago, so hard to remember precisely.
Happy to see a fellow Linux user. I'm heavily invested there (I package software for a distribution and occasionally contribute to some upstream projects).
@einar Even though I'm a robot fan, I haven't really gotten into super robot series. I think the only Go Nagai work I'm really familiar with is Devilman. I'll have to try them out sometime, though, since they're featured prominently in Super Robot Wars.
@zoku88 Devilman the manga, the 70s anime, or the recent remake?
Just asking to make sure because all three can be fairly different.
@einar I for sure watched the recent remake and haven't watched the old 70s anime. I *think* I read the original manga and a lot of Devilman Lady, but my memory is really really bad.
