Today in Writing History December 15, 1905: The Pushkin House was established in Saint Petersburg, Russia, to preserve the cultural heritage of Alexander Pushkin, (6/6/1799–2/10/1837). Pushkin was a Russian poet, playwright, and novelist of the Romantic era. He was influenced by Enlightenment writers and thinkers, like Diderot and Voltaire. He spoke out in support of social reform, and wrote poems, like “Ode to Liberty,” leading to the government exiling him from the capital. In 1920 the Pushkin House was renamed the Institute of New Russian Literature, with the main objective of preparing authoritative "academic" editions of works by Pushkin, Turgenev, Dostoevsky, and others.

I like Dostoevsky the best. Then Gogol, Bulgakov & Chernyshevsky.

Every #Writer and #Author has probably experienced the high of having written thousands of words followed by the crash of later thinking about them and thinking, without reviewing them, What a heap of 💩! Chances are it's not true. We have fears. We have insecurities. We are sometimes too hard on ourselves. I can't state how happy I am, finally having listened to my phone reading the entire sequence I wrote in the middle of the night, which included some very "sensitive"and steamy tracts. It turned out that it's pretty good!😀

Other authors, you are limiting your reach by just posting your announcements on social media. Your website will be more accessible and will make it easier for others to find updates. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve missed out on recommending work to authors because they announced it on social media and not their own website. Besides, your social media post isn’t reaching a global audience anyway because it requires a login to see your post. Your website has no such requirement. #Publishing #Author #Marketing
