Isso porque o Gmail não diferencia usernames com/sem pontos (todos pertencem ao mesmo usuário). Já o sistema bancário (BC, bancos, fintechs) diferencia endereços com pontos como sendo diferentes.

Google is changing the way message search works in Gmail, to use their defective AI systems to show you results in a way the AI thinks is best for you, meaning you could easily miss important messages when searching in Gmail when the AI screws up, which it will frequently do because it doesn't understand what your messages actually mean.
There will apparently be a way to switch to "Most recent" instead of "Most Relevant", but it will probably be on you to change this setting and I don't know at this time if this change will stick between sessions.
Google continues to ram their defective AI down people's throats.

Okay tech community.
I am looking for a new and free #Email server. My first email was yahoo - 30 years ago. I can’t remember what I used on ThunderBird.
I have been using gmail since it started, and I started trying to publish writing.
So, due to a multitude of illnesses, I am no longer tech savvy.
I need simple, and useable on the #Mac.
I have considered switching to Icloud, but don’t want that.
About six years ago, my writing #Gmail turned into a spam hub, so I had to switch to my junk email to use as my primary business email. I have never been able to get my writing gmail back to no, or even low, spam.

It's been a week now. My Thunderbird on my Pixel phone is not fetching emails from my Gmail account anymore. 
No problem on my Linux laptop, though.

How do people feel about #ProtonMail? I would like to get off gmail, mostly as a matter of principle, and the basic plan is $5/month *Canadian*, which is pretty cheap, but I'm curious what other people's experience has been. Specifically, have you had any trouble with their "bridge" app to using your own email client (NB: I'm on #Betterbird).
While #Google keeps pouring resources into Gemini AI garbage that they're constantly finding new ways to ram down our throats, #Gmail is being inundated with spam, especially fake cash app and other "deposited in your account" spams, followed by fake "Gmail Support Team" spams. Meanwhile, Gmail continues to be by far the #1 source of phishing attack email hitting users on mail platforms other than Gmail.
With the whole #ukpol on #e2ee forcing #apple to disable #adp and #usa going mad under #trump many seem to switch to #Signal over #WhatsApp.
But it seems still most people do not realize that if you use #Outlook, #Gmail, #Yahoo etc those very same governments have full access to everything that ever went through your mailbox.

@k3fnb just because #DeltaChat uses the email protocol you are making some wrong assumptions that only apply to classic email, sure if you go doing activism using #gmail that is not safe, but to use Delta Chat, you don't need to provide ANY personal data / metadata and hence can't leak metadata, you can create an anonymous account for a protest and throw it away afterwards, if cops get your phone they get random contacts not phone numbers unlike in #Signal etc.
@sebsauvage @titaniumbiscuit not all classic e-mail providers work equally well but many do. Since #chatmail entered the global e-mail server network 14 months ago, and we introduced instant-onboarding april 2024, we de-emphasize #gmail #outlook and #iCloud and don't perform "free" work to help them continue to dominate. Instead we put our energy into growing the chatmail server network which does away with spam/rate-limit problems by design. Everything is based on #interoperable #cryptography .

Die aktuelle Weltlage lässt mich überlegen, #gmail zu verlassen. Hat jemand Vorschläge die auch mit #Thunderbird out of the box funktionieren und keinen eigenen Client (wie Proton oder Tuta) erfordern?

Spam on an old email account. They *almost* fooled me until I realized the TLD was for Peru :(
Deleting all emails from my GMail account requires more work than it should. I don't think it is by accident.
On what planet does "Delete all now" means "Delete whenever you feel like it?"
The main #tech #project I've been working on for the past couple months has been to #degoogle. Google's proven track record on #privacy was just one reason.
It's been an interesting learning experience. Besides #decentralization, this has forced me to genuinely re-evaluate my tech needs. The biggest challenges have been #gmail.
I have 20 years worth of mail and Google has made it challenging, at best, to migrate to the new provider. Ugh!
