#SFMOMA Contemporary #Art Museum Curator Fired After 5+ Years At Helm For Alleged #WorkplaceMisconduct ...
While the museum would not comment in detail, the dismissal marks the third recent high-profile shakeup at the #SanFrancisco #ArtMuseum , which saw several resignations since 2020, including the senior curator and the museum’s director of 19 years leave.
@RickiTarr We went to #SFMOMA and went in the Yayoi Kusama infinite mirror space. The line was 20x longer than the time inside - recommend the 9-screen Ragnar Kjartansson “The Visitors” installation instead. (Really stunning, and worth watching all the way through.)
I had so much fun seeing Yayoi Kusama’s artwork in San Francisco that I forgot to share this photo right away!

Art of Noise https://www.sfmoma.org/exhibition/art-of-noise/, a multi-sensory exhibition that explores and celebrates the experience of music, is on view now through Aug 18 at SFMOMA.
Don’t miss the floor-to-ceiling gallery of posters, album art, flyers, and more; 53 of the 128 album covers on display are part of the Letterform Archive collection, many of which came to us from the late Scott Lindberg (https://letterformarchive.org/news/honoring-scott-lindberg/).

I loved it! Totally exhausted me, but it was worth it!
The shapes and colors in one of the rooms got right into my imagination, and I've been playing with the shapes in my own drawings.
"The House that Art Built” is a historic showcase in San Francisco.
In addition to the exhibition, which features 11 artists associated with the Oakland-based nonprofit Creative Growth, SFMOMA has also permanently acquired more than 100 works created by artists with developmental disabilities.

Last night in SF and #SFMoMA is next door. The stress of three days of meetings melted away, and I only visited 2 floors. Apparently first Thursday is free for local SFians. The plague did a number on SF, but this is a jewel.
Raymond Saunders: SFMOMA
"Known for his abstract mixed-media paintings with socio-political undertones, artist Raymond Saunders guides us through the non-linear landscape of his identity, consciousness, and art-making process. In this restored archival interview from 1994, Saunders challenges you to think deeper about the artistic journey..."
