Norwegians _loves_ it when foreigners says something nice about us! So of course a great video saying that we're doing something right gets an article in one of the two biggest local newspapers in the relevant city! :D

And if you haven't seen the video from @notjustbikes yet, well prepare yourself to get your mind blown by a tunnel in sunny, warm, basically tropical city of Bergen, Norway

@futurebird I present ByBanen in #Bergen, #Norway.

The "locals" hate it, and by locals I mean out-of-towners who don't care about the living standards of city folk. One of the most successful tram systems in the world, despite them generally being badly planned and as a result unsuccessful.

I'm happy you got that congestion pricing though. Fight for that. It is good. We got that here as well and that nasty beige, yellowy "gas lid" that used to hover over our city is gone - thankfully.

Fantoft #StaveChurch (or Fortun kyrkje, as it was originally actually called), in the 1880s.

Nowadays most known for getting burned down and rebuilt in the 1990s, the church originally stood in Fortun in Sogn, but was moved to #Bergen in 1883.

This is cruise #ship D/Y Meteor in the #Bergen harbour, and cyclists frolicking in the sun. Likely in the 20s, when it flagged to Norway.

Bergen and Western Norway has been a cruise destination for a long time. The 105 meter long ship is German-built in 1904, made as a cruise vessel up and down the Norwegian coast. It was then used as a lodge ship by the German army in WWI, before being captured as a British post ship, before being bought by a Norwegian shipping company as a cruise ship again in the 20s, before being seized by the Nazi occupiers as a hospital ship, before being bombed by Soviet planes outside Pillau (Baltiysk) in Russia in 1945. Phew!

Also, I want to bike in the Bergen spring soon.

🇬🇧 I will soon start posting my toots in both Norwegian and English. This way, I can reach more of the pirate, Linux, and anarcho-syndicalist community in my home country alongside my international base and share my thoughts in both languages.

Anglerfish Trap: Amazing Street Art By SKURK!

Norway-based street artist Skurk has done quite a few impressive murals, but this time an art collective called BART gave him quite a challenging task – a building wall with a staircase and light bulbs. Skurk found a perfect solution. He used the lamps to create a nightmarish anglerfish, a bony sea creature famous for a luminescent ‘antenna’ on its head. Anglerfish use this organ to lure their prey in dark water environments. Also, females use it to attract males for mating. “Those […]

Spesielt at lokale forhold finst!

Det er over 100 år sidan at prof.
