I love those sunsets offered by the Orchilla Lighthouse on El Hierro Island (Canary Islands), which reminds us that it was the Prime Meridian until it was moved to the Greenwich Observatory in England. Rainy season in Peru has started...

The photo was captured while driving through the streets of Cusco:

Through the car window, raindrops catch the golden glow, appearing like shimmering illuminated drops on the glass. The night sky is illuminated by the lights from streetlamps and shops. Through the bokeh of the raindrops on the window, in the background on the right, a 3-story house corner is visible, and from the left to the middle of the image, the illuminated shopping row, a few umbrellas (to protect small stands from the rain) and the yellow stripe, signaling the edge of the street are recognizable. Despite the unpleasant weather outside, the image exudes a warm, cozy atmosphere.

Their living with the dogs. Their living with the cats. The dogs and cats are living in the house of the people who live there.

I got up this morning and the first thing I had to do is cleanup after Charlie. I put my Bissell carpet cleaner to work, but I can't say I was a happy camper. On the bright side, all of that sudden activity woke me up. So now I'm Woke, awake, alert at a level that I'm usually not at this early in the morning. See, there usually is a bright side to things. Whoa ... it is mealtime. Hmmm ... maybe it is me who is living with the dogs who live here. Well, it is also time to relax with coffee.

Here we go, I'm up I've already let Ben and Charlie out, and I'm sipping coffee. Ben is curled up behind my chair now and Charlie is fidgeting in front. This is how mornings are supposed to start at my house. I have to be careful that my routine doesn't turn into a rut though. It's 45 minutes until mealtime. Maybe I should grab my cameras and drive out toa lake for a few minutes this morning. That sounds like a good idea, but it will have to wait until after mealtime. When you have fury friends, there are certain responsibilities that come with them. After all, I live in their house it's only right that I do a few things.

Full Moon Rising`

Update: I took this photo on 25 February 2024, and the moon wasn't quite full, it was at waning gibbous, 99%, so the evening after the full moon.

I don't recall when I took this photo, perhaps two or three weeks ago.

This is a photo of the light of the moon shining through a pine tree, illuminating the pine needles and pinecones.

Lazy place on the beach.

I was going through my photos and found this quite beach spot. I must have taken this from the balcony of our suite because the lens fogged over. This was taken as the ship was pulling into Costa Maya, Mexico.

This is a beach scene. There are a bunch of palm trees and/or coconut trees growing wild on what looks like an isolated sandy and rocky beach. There is a hammock strung between to palm trees. Beyond the trees there is some sort of structure, a house perhaps, I can't tell.

Well things are back to normal, there was the usual battle with Charlie this morning to get a few more minutes sleep. I kind of blew yesterday off ... completely, I didn't do anything. Well, that's not completely true, there are some things that I had to do. It's like I've been training to make lazy a way of life. Already this morning I feel like taking a nap. Hmmm ... I better get up and get another cup of coffee.

Hunting.

Here's an Ospreay (Pandion haliaetus) that I saw today. The bird was high over the ocean and long way off. The photo isn't the greatest, but it might be the best photo of an osprey that I've taken.

"Ospreys are unusual among hawks in possessing a reversible outer toe that allows them to grasp with two toes in front and two behind. Barbed pads on the soles of the birds' feet help them grip slippery fish. When flying with prey, an Osprey lines up its catch head first for less wind resistance.
