"We could dream big this time. When we’re designing things we imagine how it will look on-screen, but with FFX and the PS2, once we got down to work, what we were able to produce completely exceeded those initial expectations."

From a series of voxel art tributes to childhood game nostalgia I made in the 2000s.
As there were no voxel editors yet, I made them by extruding polygons in 3ds Max.

Another thing I wanted to share out of the stuff on my Switch:
I've been using emulators since forever, but this is still, by far, the best emulation collection release I have ever seen. The whole interface is amazing. You're comfortably in your room as quiet ambient sounds come in from outside (in day you hear cars quietly passing by and birds) with game posters on the walls and such and a shelf full of Genesis/Megadrive games that it actually puts IN a console shown on screen, then it plays on a TV on screen. (It can be set to load games directly in fullscreen which I recommend, but it was neater to show it merely zooming in on the virtual TV for the clip.)
i often see the #hyperkin #retron devices but the reviews are so bad. i did see there's a separate firmware from a more capable device that you can install on the retron 5 but that's a lot of effort that i don't need to undertake given i have a phone and a computer. i guess at that point i might as well get a #misterfpga... or just keep using the consoles/computer/phone that i have. #retrogaming
Finally beat Metroid II. Not as good as the original and strangely longer. Still was an enjoyable distraction on the plane. Got the middle ending (4h 17m). Not sure if that counts me putting it on pause for a few 5 min stretches. Also not going to be trying to get the sub 3hr ending.
The Mini Miyoo v4 is great.
awesome: Beastie/Leon McNeill just open sourced their Ultima III colour Macintosh port, all written in Think C!
This is the "Lairware" version that was sold at lairware.com, and received many updates over the years - eventually gaining OS X/Intel 32-bit support. The source appears to be an Xcode project with a mix of think C and cocoa.
great job, Leon!
